3800 Ocean: An Ideal South Florida Experience

August 28, 2013, 2:18 pm, Posted by NewToPalmBeach - no responses

3800 Ocean provides an all-around great South Florida experience. The restaurant is a part of the Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort & Spa, a beautiful resort getaway on our very own, Singer Island. I call it an experience because of the amazing combination of both visual and palatable enjoyment. While dining at 3800 Ocean, you’ll enjoy spectacular ocean front views, either from the indoor contemporary elegance of the restaurant, or relaxing outside on the expansive covered patio.

Did I mention that the food is spectacular? Everything is made from scratch, utilizing the freshest seafood and produce that South Florida has to offer. You’ll find diverse dishes from the restaurant’s “Collective Kitchen,” featuring brings flavors from “the comfort food favorites of New England; the fire and spice of Mexico; the Caribbean traditions of Jamaica; and the ageless classics of Long Island.”

If you’re looking for a truly unique experience, 3800 Ocean offers their Kitchen Table dining experience Thursdays-Saturdays. You’ll get to be a part of the action, as you sit literally at the kitchen table that’s limited to 5 guests. You’ll be right next to the chefs who will prepare a meal tailored to your personal tastes à la minute, featuring fresh-daily ingredients!

3800 Ocean is definitely a feast for all of the senses. Visit to learn more about 3800 Ocean!

Le Rendez-vous – Best Kept Secret

August 20, 2013, 11:33 am, Posted by NewToPalmBeach - no responses

Le Rendez-vous located at 221 Datura St., is right next door to the Sticks and Spirits cigar shop on the corner of Datura and Olive.   The front door was flanked with two large imitation topiary plants in the shape of large Perrier Water bottles, which obviously meant, this place is French!

Actually, the owners are brothers from France, featuring the stylings of Chef Vincent Toscano.  While our visit was more of a late night soiree, and only enjoyed their delicious cheese samples, everyone who had eaten there earlier raved about the food.

We raved about the music, and the guest DJ (and now new resident Friday and Saturday) DJ DeNegron is a House Music junkie who’s been in the game about as long as house music has been around.  Going back to the early days of Strictly Rhythm Records in NYC, and establishing the label Subliminal with friends Eric Morillo, Jose Nunez and Harry Romero.

Angel’s production credits include work for Gossip Records, for owners Greg Bahary and John Garcia  – when house music was in complete control of all the major NYC clubs.  You can tell DeNegron’s bloodline comes from house music royalty as the music was awesome, mixes superb and we didn’t want it to stop when the lights went on at 1am.

The lounge stayed open until 2am, as the evening wound down, and the people who stayed throughout the night enjoyed every last bit of this unique restaurant, lounge, club, and  gallery.  I look forward to many more nights of great house music, without the madness of the big clubs.  Kind of our best kept secret, at least for now.
